A non-profit social start-up initiated in 2014 by a group of thoughtful young minds and tender hearts, Muskaan Dreams is an organization working to create digital learning space for the children studying in rural government schools. The NGO is Currently working with 77 govt schools in Bhopal, Gwalior and Indore. Muskaan Dreams has outstretched to almost 15000 children till now and is in no mood to slow their pace.
The organization has over 200 volunteers. They are active in these three cities and are guided by its Co-founder Rishi Raj and Operations Head Hansraj Patidar.
Organization’s primary consent is to provide digital education to children who couldn’t avail it easily. To ensure it, they develop the infrastructure of government schools in villages including a digital classroom with Hindi content, investing minimum cost through youth mobilization process.
In 2017, when it was time for Muskaan Dreams to celebrate its 3rd anniversary, it gave people of Chinor a reason for celebration too. The organization transformed the village’s government school into a digital one. It now provides education through E-content based technology where all the subjects are taught not with paper books but with e-books. Attendance and chapter progress is also taken care of by an app.
The volunteers worked in the blazing heat of 47-48 degrees. But the aim of renovation and training the teachers kept them cool.
“A little thought and a little kindness are worth more than a great deal of money.” – John Ruskin
Muskaan is also working on a revolutionary model like ‘Developing Life Skills’. Here children will be taught basic life skills from a tender age. This model includes digital awareness, activity-based learning, teachers training and creative thinking. The model focuses on numerous aspects, such as
- E-content in Hindi languages
- Attendance and chapter progress report app
- Learning through wall art
- Attractive Dining space, drinking water and toilets
- Interior plants in all classes adopted by each student
Abhishek’s favourite quote is the one by Swami Vivekananda that reads “This life is short, the vanities of the world are transient, but they alone live who live for others, the rest are more dead than alive.”
The road ahead
The organization further aims to equip more village schools with more facilities. This will help the students to learn and grow in a futuristic, conducive and fun environment.
Making young hearts flatter with the thoughtful deeds, Muskaan Dreams and its volunteers are indeed achievers, our Indian Achievers.
