Entrepreneur turned a 4-seat salon to 5 outlets

Inspiring Stories

In a tier-3 city like Gwalior, it is a challenge to run a unisex salon. And I wanted to stretch the limits of my father’s business. So I put all my efforts and dedication in exposing Central India, the salon to new opportunities.” Says Sachin Raut, a young entrepreneur of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

Years back

Sachin’s father Mr. Arun Raut started a small salon in his early thirties. “It was a four-seat salon back then. Small inputs and small outputs were the salon’s mechanism.” But the vision was big than the reality, which was to unfold some new seats in the salon Central India.

Sachin is a graduate in Bachelor of Business Administration and applying his professional knowledge he mapped strategies to expand the business.

That’s how things changed!

When a new and well-marketised business complex ‘City Centre‘ launched in Gwalior, Sachin though it was his shot, and he did take it! Central India‘s set up was again a small one, with a few seats but now it was in a prominent place.

People were not fashion oriented back then, so we had to bring their interest in our work. I went to Delhi and did a professional Hair Dressing Course. We upgraded our small salon to expand ourselves and to meet customer’s expectations also.” The salon’s tagline is “Rules your Head“, and the feedback page of Central India speaks that this salon rules hearts too. He went on to take loans from banks and approached investors, which he thinks was risky but worthy.

With these short but sturdy steps, Central India now has five outlets in Gwalior. With each outlet of over 85 seating capacity taken care of by a staff of 80 skilled dressers. Moreover, he plans to unfold the seats of his salon in other cities also.

Scissoring out fear of failure, gelling his father’s business to new heights, walking on the curly and straight paths, Sachin polished and creamed a vision, his father’s vision.
