An award is something given to a person in recognition of his excellence in a certain field. Teaching Excellence Awards 2018 (TEA – 2018) was an effort of MT Research and Educational Services (MTRES) in association with Buzzingg and Indian Achievers Story to recognition the best teachers (Nation Builders) for their special contribution in the respective domain. Meet one of the awardees, Dr. Rajeshkumar Sambhe, who has been honoured with TEA-2018 as Excellent Teacher.

The Story of Dr. Rajeshkumar Sambhe began in 1996 when he completed Mechanical Engineering Degree with University Merit and Gold medal. He started his career journey as Design and Development Engineer in the automotive industry. He started passing his CAD knowledge to the industrial engineers. Later he joined as lecturer in a mechanical engineering department of Jawaharlal Darda Institute of Engineering & Technology, Yavatmal, in 1998.

Dr. Sambhe had ample time after his teaching job got over. Just to pass on the wisdom of his knowledge he gave teaching lessons to the professors of medical colleges at 05:00 AM as that was the only time when internet connectivity was available due to technical limitations. He then put the limelight of the internet in his own district. It took him almost 3000 pages and 8 months of hard work and commitment to developing website www.yavatmaldistrict.com which was inaugurated by IAS Shri. Vikas Kharge in 2001.

He installed his project Village Information Centre (VIC) in one of the schools which were open for rural youth and school children. In VIC, he created a database of all government schemes. In this project, Mr. Amit Kumar Rathod and Mr. Krishna Kadam were also involved. Mr. Amit Kumar Rathod is now IPS and Superintendent of Police at Jhargram, West Bengal. Dr. Prashant Gawande, a school teacher also supported for day to day VIC activities.

His interest in teaching especially computers grown up and from 2003, he started utilizing his summer vacation with school students. He started teaching disparate computer software’s, web page designing as well as computer hardware troubleshooting to school students of III to X Std in vacation slot. He utilizes his vacation by arranging practical training @ 40 days to improve student’s practical ability. These school students were trained in web page designing, projects through visual basic programming, C programming and even troubleshooting computer hardware in early age and before entering for the college education. He has taught and developed more than 1000 school students till date.

In 2006 Dr. Sambhe started working on “Six Sigma” as a research area for his doctoral work. With the strategy to improve quality of the output of a process by identifying and removing the causes of defects and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes, he took no minute to think about his Diwali and summer vacations and he proficiently wised up two case studies in automotive industries. The work didn’t even end here as he kept on moving forward and developed a Six Sigma Model for analyzing and upgrading Manufacturing Process Performance and Service Quality in Medium Scale Automotive Industry in Indian Context.

He was invited as a speaker and judged a session of the 18th international conference on automotive and mechanical engineering held in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2016 as session chair. He is Editorial Board Member / Associate Editor / Technical Chair / Reviewer of various peer-reviewed international research journals and conferences of international repute. He is a member of various national and international professional organization and societies.
