An award is something given to a person in recognition of his excellence in a certain field. Teaching Excellence Awards 2018 (TEA – 2018) was an effort of MT Research and Educational Services (MTRES) in association with Buzzingg and Indian Achievers Story to recognition the best teachers (Nation Builders) for their special contribution in the respective domain. Meet one of the awardees, Dr. G. Ravi, who has been honoured with TEA-2018 as Excellent Teacher.

Dr. G. Ravi started his career in 2008 after joining Sona College of Technology in the Department of Electronics and Communication. He was associated earlier with the Government College of Engineering, Adhiyaman College of Engineering and KLN College of Engineering as lecturer during the period of 2002 and 2008. He Earned Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, India in 2016. Dr. Ravi completed his Bachelors in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bharatiyar University in 2002, and his Master’s in Communication Systems from Anna University in 2007.
Dr. Ravi specializes in Wireless Networks, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, Wireless Communication, Wireless Ad hoc Networks, Wireless Sensor Networks, and Optical Communication. He has published more than 44 Research papers, which include 17 papers in National Conferences, 14 papers in International Conferences and 13 papers in International Journals. Number of his research papers has appeared in Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, Inderscience and Springer. He is the Research and Development Coordinator of Sona VLSI Systems and Communication Technology, Research Center in Sona College of Technology. He has attended many International Conferences, Symposiums, and Workshops, and delivered many lectures throughout India. He is an active member of IEEE and ISTE. He has been awarded the Best Paper Award for his paper Wireless Health Monitoring Systems using ZIGBEE and GSM, in the 6th National Conference on Frontiers in Communication and Signal Processing Systems held at Adhiyamaan College of Engineering in March 2018.
Dr. Ravi has more than 14 years of teaching and research experience. He is the Research Supervisor in Anna University, Chennai. He has supervised more than 8 Ph.D. Research Scholars. He is also a member of the Board of Studies in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Sona College of Technology since 2010 and has developed syllabuses for Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programs. He has successfully guided 37 Masters and 12 Graduate thesis and received many appreciation awards during his teaching period.
