On India’s 74th Independence Day, Gujrat Sahitya Akademi(Academy) led by Government of Gujarat and world’s most active poetry forum Motivational Strips collaborated to honour 350 poets from 80 countries. The honor bespeaks literary excellence at par with global standards, and writers all over the world were chosen under the category of “Most Prominent and Distinguished writers”.

Mohit Katyal, a resident of Hoshiarpur, Punjab was one of the recipients of this honor. Also, many famed authors and experienced teachers received this. The mentors who recognized the global poetry were Padma Shri awardee Dr. Vishnu Pandya, Mr. Shizu. H. Pallathazheth( Founder of Motivational strips), Sabrina Bryant(American Poetess). Speaking on this Mohit said “I don’t have a literature background, this is more like a beautiful surprise for me”

Katyal has been writing poetry since 2016, he wanted to pursue a career in English literature but ended up in computer science. Still, he seems to enjoy this polyamory with computers and pens. Speaking of credits, Mohit said ” I, with no second thoughts, would love to give its credit to my English literature guide, Dr. Disha Khanna(Author of ” And Hence the Phoenix Rose” ) and Prof. Kamini Verma (Assistant Professor) for guiding me.
