This is a story of a man who had been feeding 300 people for 4 years and is earning blessings and love in return. Maqbul Ahmed is a tea seller from Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) who is kneading happiness in the stomach of over a thousand people now.
Maqbul started serving people since 1 May 2013 and prepares food for homeless hungry people with the earnings he makes from his tea stall. Just in a few years, from 300 plates Maqbul now sets the table for over 1000 plates and wishes to increase these numbers.
“The sole meaning of life is to serve humanity.” – Leo Tolstoy
Maqbul said, “there were days when I could not afford these meals but more than that, I didn’t have the heart to see the disappointment laced with hunger. So I used to borrow money on such days or bring my home savings.” He started this noble work alone and now is accompanied by a team of people like him. Local people contribute to the funds and help Maqbul by other means also as his earnings are not sufficient for this dine.
“Langar-e-aam” is the name of his dine where the rag pickers, beggars and other wanderers who are homeless or have no means to satisfy their hunger come and eat.
“Humanity should be our race. Love should be our religion.” – Unknown
People admire and praise his work and shower their blessings on him for thisgood deed. Maqbul Might not be a wealthy person but with this big aheart; he is rich. His unstoppable dedication is impressive andinspirational and also compels people to cooperate in “Langar-e-aam”.
Today when many people claim of being a god but cut the threads of humanity into millions of pieces, this man calls himself a cook and is doing wonders we so much need today. When people fight over religion, this man follows Humanity as is his religion.
